Abstract
The study assessed the impact of cross-border trade policies. The study associated labour productivity, capital productivity and opportunity cost as among the important factors on business growth and its performance. The study explained trade policy as a moderating factor towards maize business growth. The study was conducted at the Tunduma town border, and data was collected from 311 respondents using closed-ended questionnaires. Primary data analysis revealed increases in profitability through revenue and profit. The available policies and their regular changes seemed to affect cross-border traders, maize business dealers. The findings provide solutions for policymakers and maize business chain dealers by providing areas for improvement to the available policies and issues to consider in designing the new policies related to cross-border trade. The results explained that the trade policy positively influences the maize business growth
